Maraton De Panama
Los cubanos Henry Jaén y Yailén García ganaron hoy el trigésimo segundo maratón de Panamá, en sus categorías respectivas, mientras la mexicana Isabel Orellana llegó segunda.
Jaén cruzó la meta en el centro comercial Multiplaza de esta capital con un tiempo de dos horas, 29 minutos y 10 segundos, para revalidar su condición de favorito luego de ganar la carrera en 2003, 2004 y 2007.
El cubano llegó adelante del colombiano Víctor Ocampo (2.30.52) y del peruano Florencio Machacuay (2.31.51). El campeón dijo que correr el maratón “no fue fácil” con un clima pesado, además de haber sentido presión en toda la distancia.
En la categoría de damas, la cubana García, quien por primera vez participaba en la prueba, hizo un tiempo de dos horas, 51 minutos y 15 segundos.
La mexicana Isabel Orellana arribó en segundo lugar al parar el cronómetro en 2.58.08 horas y en tercer sitio llegó la peruana Juliana Rivera con 3.17.24. La competencia, que además tuvo carrera de 21 kilómetros y una competencia en silla de ruedas, fue organizada por el Club Corredores del Istmo.
Los organizadores repartieron premios por 30 mil dólares, entre ellos tres mil 500 para el ganador en masculino y dos mil dólares en femenino.
