MEXICANOS GANAN EL MARATON LALA

Carlos Cordero de Guanajuato ganó por primera vez esta prueba para dejar atrás el dominio keniano. En la rama femenil también hay nueva campeona, la mexiquense Margarita Tapia.
Los mexicanos dominaron la edición XXI del Maratón Internacional Lala 2009 que se celebró en la Comarca Lagunera.
Margarita Tapia García y Carlos Cordero Gómez son los nuevos monarcas, pero ninguno logró romper el record establecido anteriormente en la carrera.
En la rama varonil, el mejor tiempo fue de dos horas 12 minutos con 48 segundos, que realizó el oriundo de Irapuato, Guanajuato, por lo que sigue intacto el récord que en 2001 estableció Andrés Espinosa.
Los ganadores del segundo y tercer lugar fueron Juan Gualberto Vargas Sánchez de León, Guanajuato, con 2:12:59 y Joseph Mutinda de Nairobi, Kenia, con 2:13:19.
Dentro de la rama femenil, la corredora del Estado de México hizo dos horas, 29 minutos con 35 segundos, se quedó a 35 segundos de igualar a Dulce María Rodríguez, que en esta ocasión arribó en segundo lugar con 2:30:48 y Jessica Patricia Rodríguez Galván llegó en tercero con 2:34:13.
La competencia registró una participación de cerca de cuatro mil corredores, se superó la cifra de tres mil 770 del año pasado y se corrió a una temperatura promedio de diez grados centígrados y nuevamente se distingue por tener el mayor número de espectadores a lo largo de su recorrido.
La motivación que reciben de los habitantes de la Comarca Lagunera es una de las razones por las que muchos corredores regresaron a participar, además del reto que implica la competencia que terminó con saldo blanco.
La seguridad fue uno de los aspectos que llamaron la atención, ya que además de la seguridad pública y privada, el Ejército Mexicano también se hizo presente con varias unidades de resguardo.
La competencia
El clima ayudó, aunque al principio corrió un poco de viento. La carrera inició muy rápida, a la altura del kilómetro cinco todo indicaba que habría nuevo récord del maratón por el paso que llevaban los punteros, sin embargo, del kilómetro cinco al 15 cambió la táctica, nueve corredores se adelantaron y a 50 o 60 metros atrás iba otro grupo de aproximadamente 15 atletas, luego se volvieron a compactar y alternaban la punta Alejandro Suárez y el keniano Joseph Mutinda.
Fue una competencia muy táctica, nadie quería dejarse, todos querían ganar y eso hizo más lenta la primera mitad del recorrido.
Carlos Cordero estuvo siempre entre los primeros, mientras que Alejandro Suárez, corredor de diez mil metros que representó a México en Juegos Olímpicos, fue muy cauteloso al principio y luego se soltó para competir codo a codo con los líderes.
Después de que Cordero, Suárez y Vargas se intercalaron en la punta, tras cruzar el kilómetro 34, comenzó a despegar un grupo de cinco corredores y al salir de la Colonia Torreón Jardín la pelea fue entre tres, ya en el cierre Carlos Cordero tuvo más fuerza y llegó solo a la meta.
Por lo que respecta a las mujeres, todavía en el kilómetro 32 el panorama aún no estaba claro, pero luego empezó a apretar Margarita Tapia, para superar a la favorita Dulce María Rodríguez, que a pesar de que por lapsos estuvo al frente del contingente de mujeres, que fue el primero en la salida y el primero en la llegada, no consiguió llegar en primero
